south tongu district of the volta region.

pond is now dried up, over 3500 people relied on the muddy pond, if one is unable to buy water from polytanks
at exorbitant price.

the effect is evident, waterborne diseases are
prevalent.

midst of the acute warer shortage, the volta lake flows abudantly through the
area.
some
weeks after our report, the former president of ghana, jerry john rawlings
responded, supplying three boreholes for the community.
one is
located close to the kpotame clinic, another is cited close to the dam site,
while a third is in the centre of the community.

the
expression on the faces of people here in kpotame says it all.
Indeed,
water is a precious commodity for residents .
