facilities at boti falls in the eastern region are gradually deteriorating due to improper management.

daniel lartey visited the tourist site and reports, the only guest house is not in operation due to lack of bed sheets and  other upholstery.

boti falls' popularity began in the early 1960's.

the recreational site has since been a famous tourist site hosting thousands of tourist during the holiday season in july.

we decided to visit the site in an off peak season.

the first scene that welcomes any visitor is the  deplorable state of facilities arising out of visible lack of maintenance.

the only toilet facility has broken down and our tour guide tells us, the district assembly which is expected to manage the site has not attended to it.

the extent of neglect is more visible from this hut  which is a worry to the caretaker, daniel angwortey.

a closer look reveals extensive lack of maitenance that will discourage any first time visitor.  the two-room rest house renovated in 2011 is not in use due to lack of curtains and bed sheets

cub webs and dirt have taken over the modern edifice.

apparently, the reserve power plant serving the site has been dysfunctional for several years now.

despite the poor upkeep visitors would have to  dish out additional money to enjoy this natural creation.

we were tempted to believe that posterity would not have the opportunity to see the trinity palm tree as evident in the way it is managed.

but there appears to be some good news, my tour guide tells us that sitting on this sacred stone can make one conceive twins.

revenue generated from the fall contributes immensely to the development of the district but unitl , proper management is enforced, the site will continue to depend on the dwindling number of visitors.

UNSAFE WATER @NKRUMKROM

VT having a borehole which delivers unsafe water, certainly, does not improve one's health. residents of nkrumkrom, a village in the aburi south district of the eastern region now resort to a coloured river as a source of potable water. another report by daniel lartey  V/0 without technical advice, residents of nkrumkrom, resort to construct this borehole with the hope of ending the challenge of lack of access to potable water. they cited it close to the community river to ensure constant flow. least did they expect that water flowing from the borehole would carry a pungent smell. the facility is abandoned as residents have resorted to this river as an alternative source of water. it also serves as a pool for the young in the area. for them, boiling before use to unsure safety is not a priority. sot but potable water is not the only need of nkrumkrom, the about 300 populated community depends on this pit latrine as the only to

BUI PART ONE

VT trail tests have began on the generation of first power from the bui hydro electric power project. In this report, daniel lartey, highlights preparations towards the evacuation of 133 megawatts of power by the end of april 2013. Wait for cue V/O construction works at the bui hydro electric power dam are nearing completion. workers are currently busy fixing parts on the  components which will generate the first 133 megawatts of energy. the power house overhead bridge crane which can lift 360 tonnes of load was in operation. the turbine for the 133 generator has been assembled the turbine area has been cordoned off with wooden bars and only authorized workers were allowed to enter. the turbine floor, containing the turbine arrangements was also ready.  Installation of drainage pumps, cooler and water treatment plant were all complete Several control panels for the first generation have been lined adjacent the turbine area. we gath
