TIME WITH GRANNI

VT

there seems to be no end in sight to the current water crisis.

tv3's daniel lartey caught up with 90 year old   kaa kwabla adjetey, who struggles daily to access one of life's essentials.

wait for cue

V/O

it is 7:30am, kaa kwabla adjetey  has just woken up.

snd up... praying.

she has spent all her life in teshie corner stone, a community dried out from lack of water supply.

at 90, she still likes to do things on her own.

when receptacles are empty, she makes her way to the tap to see if by some stroke of luck, water could be flowing.

SND UP

she's become used to falling and tripping.

fortunately,  her great grand son,  ebernezer adjetey pays her a visit.

she quickly pleads with him to help her out with a gallon of water,  which sells at a very exorbitant price.

snd up

after several minutes, he returns with a half gallon of water.

painstakingly she journeys to the communal bath house.

snd up..

she sometimes goes without a shower or bath for days.

sot

access to potable water is a basic human right.

the world water council states that, water should be accessible and affordable to everyone, yet many across the country struggle to get access.

some even rely on poor sources.

s o t Stanley martey, communications manager, ghana urban water limited.

he admitted the challenge remains managing and distributing water
