pokrom nsabaa, is a village located in the akuapem south district of the eastern region about twenty two kilometers from aburi.

residents here are mostly peasant farmers.

Inspite of the progress made in providing boreholes for them, more needs to be done to protect children and their families from illnesses that result from unsafe drinking water.

water from the only borehole takes time to flow, and residents have resorted to the asua yaa stream for all domestic purposes.

according to a unicef reports, unsafe and inadequate access to safe water and sanitation services coupled with poor hygienic practices kill thousands of children every day.

children report late for school because they spend long hours from the stream to their homes.

on weekends, they spend large part of their day fetching water.

residents told the news team , regular provision of alternative sources of drinking water will be a significant improvement in their lives.
